One of the moments that most people would really love to preserve is the events on their wedding day; digital wedding photography has changed how wedding photographers can carry out their work ensuring the day is captured on disk. Couples often have a DVD made as well so that even more of the occasion is captured.

The hardest thing if you are a friend or relation is trying to take photographs of the wedding day that they will be pleased with. With the information here you may find taking photographs with a digital camera at a wedding a little easier.

If you only remember one piece of information from this article, remember to make sure that the photographs have a nice background as it is one of the first things you'll notice when you look at them. Portrait images (those that show just head and shoulders) can be very effective especially if the background is hardly in the shot.

If there is bright sunlight or you are using flash, ask guests who are wearing glasses to remove them just for the shot or as an alternative they could turn their head slightly to the side. If you are shooting into the light, remember to compensate and increase the aperture otherwise the couple (or guests) will appear dark in the image.

A zoom lens will often enable you to take pictures that would not otherwise be possible as people are not so conscious of their photo being taken. To avoid missing what will probably be great shots, don't put your camera down because with digital wedding photography you can guarantee the moment you do, something worthwhile will take place.

All your efforts will be wasted if you forget to have fresh batteries or carry enough memory for your digital camera to take every image from the day. For any camera with 6 mega pixels or above, you will require at least one gigabyte, preferably two gigabytes of storage space on your card if you intend to use high resolution.

If you intend to have the pictures blown up to a large size you will need to ensure your cameras resolution is set to maximum. To ensure your pictures are safe and ready to print, save them as soon as possible to your computer's hard drive and create a CD you can present to the couple.

If you have a passion for photography and a good relationship with the two people getting married then your digital wedding photography images should come out just fine.
